The Civil Organization of the Liberation Revolution in the OUED Souf Region and its Role in Supporting the National Struggle: Taghzout Region as a Case Study 1955-1962

Abstract
This research explores the role of the civil organization of the Algerian Liberation Revolution in Taghzout during the War of Independence (1954–1962). It highlights the contribution of local inhabitants in supporting the National Liberation Front (FLN) and the National Liberation Army (ALN). The civil organization was responsible for collecting funds, providing supplies, transmitting information, and sheltering revolutionaries. It also played an important role in spreading national awareness and mobilizing the population. Despite colonial surveillance, arrests, and repression, its members continued their activities in support of the revolution. The study concludes that the civil organization in Taghzout was a key factor in strengthening the revolutionary movement and contributed significantly to Algeria’s independence in 1962.
